  • Steel butterflies are beautiful

Butterflies make a great subject matter, I can watch them for hours/days/weeks...... I have just sold one of my sculptures ' The Year of the Butterfly', so this means that I now need to make another to take its place. This year I have noticed the large cabbage white everywhere, so I guess cabbage will be pricey this winter. So maybe that species of butterfly will be the subject matter of the sculpture this time.

  • Dr Who V Rat Land

This is what went on in my head the other day when I found my Sons Dr Who!

Here is the Time Lord as he enters the place known as 'RAT LAND' Will Dr Who be able to survive this mission and save the human race from being devoured by rats.......

    Dr Who in Rat Land

After the intrepid journey to 'Rat Land' I found Dr Who in a very sorry state and am sad to report that his mission was not a success, so prepare people for soon the winter will be upon us and the rats will be trying to break into your homes to run a mock, amongst us! We must stand together and fight this filthy invasion, lay your traps people! and be free from the Rat tyranny!

Before the Dr Died (well I think he is dead) he certainly looks as though he might be! The last words he said to me was ....

"They have got the sonic screwdriver!"

  • This is a little blue in more ways than one so be warned!

Following on with my stick men I thought this made a rather amusing scene, its called Swing 2 (for obvious reasons) The first one went to a lady who didn't realise the depth of detail in the little men and women and upon inspection she was fortunately rather amused!

  • I just want to say........

Hi there everyone, I just wanted to say a huge hello to all my friends on here old (who i have neglected terribly) and new (who I would like to say a big hello to) and to also apologise for my lack of blogs just recently, its just that when the light hours are here, I am rarely sat in front of the computer for long. So just to bring people up to date on my world I have been very, very busy this summer with two exhibitions running one after the other, I have another which will be starting in November 2009 much to my shock......I realised today when I had the local program sent through for forthcoming events in my local theatres, that instead of my exhibition running from November 2010 till January 2011 (which I had been previously told) I will, apparently, be exhibiting from November 2009 until January 2010.........I was a little shocked to say the least, as now I only have around three months to prepare for this show of work....eeeeekkkkk! Good job I am prepared a little, and have already started to work on my new pieces for this exhibition of work me thinks! The exhibition is called Strange Machines and can be seen at the Landmark Theatre Ilfracombe Devon from the 9th November 2009 through to 30th January 2010 should anyone be in the local area on those dates......

  • My God!

Just wanted to share a funny moment with you all that happened this morning.....we all seem to have a funny little habit of giving our private parts little nick names of which there are many but I was wondering if any fellow male out there had ever choosen to call their genitals your god? This morning as my son pounced on me while we were enjoying our early morning cuppa he landed with his hand in a most undesirable place, as I saw this happening I said to him dont jump there be careful of my and I was going to say privates but as I was a little to late with my warning and I was acting after the event it came out all wrong and is now commenly known within the household as my God! In hindsight a rather good nick name for a male appendage don't you think, so maybe that should be added to the official list.

  • what was that?

I sat up late last night watching a good thriller on the telly....(the decent if anyone has seen it) so it finished after 12.00, so I let my dogs out for a late night wee and they started barking. This bark was an I mean business bark which I thought was a little strange for that time of night so grabbed the torch and a jacket and went to see what the fuss was all about......I must of looked a right site in welly boots pants and a big puffy jacket roaming around the countryside in the dark. Well I skirted the property and nothing could be found, so I returned to the house and locked up for the night. It was at this point that my Mrs asked me if I had been whistling for the dogs and I said no it wasn't me.......well she heard a whistle plain as day so someone was out there last night....... I am yet to find out who and what they were all about but I will be stepping up the security for a bit.......so if you see a strange man wandering around in his underpants at night its probably me!!!! :)

  • White Horses!

I can not believe how fierce the winds have been these last two days, unfortunately suffered damage to the polytunnel one of the doors has suffered damage despite being closed its got a rip in one of the side panels and its been flapping about and tearing the side more. Plants however are safe, thankfully. The trees here are almost bending double and the sea is really rough (white horses everywhere, well that's what we call the crests of the waves.) Sun is shining though so its not all bad news. Hope everyone is having a good day:)

  • the amazing egg eggstravaganza!!!

40 years on this earth and I have never seen anything like this before........I started my morning this morning by cooking a bacon an egg sandwich for all the family, all was fine until I cracked the last egg into the frying pan....it spat at me a little as eggs sometimes can do but then it inflated to a bubble about 6 inches high the bubble then burst and with the pressure of the bubble bursting the egg leapt into the air above the frying pan flipped over twice and landed plop back in the pan........I have never seen anything like this before, I awarded my egg a gold medal for its efforts as a gymnast....does anyone know when the egg olympics are? :)

  • The feet of a troll!!

ok, ok! so its the time of year when all the feet come out......I have to say that feet are not the best part of the body for me by a long chalk at the best of times, so at the moment I am finding harder than ever to actually like the feet of my partner......let me explain.... she bought herself a pair of summer sandals the others day, when she came home she scurried off into the bedroom to put together her 'here is summer ensamble,' came waltzing through the house in a very pretty flowy summer dress, sporting her new sandals and the feet of a troll,!!!! I say this as she has two stubbed toes at the moment, so each foot has a nail on it that is a black as soot, I have to say it took the whole illusion I had in my mind right away from me....needles to say I didn't have the sense to keep my mouth shut and commented about the troll feet, so now I am in the dog house.....ho hum hope it dosen't last for long and I really hope her two blackened toe nails grow out soon :)
