I have just sold one of my sculptures ' The Year of the Butterfly', so this means that I now need to make another to take its place. This year I have noticed the large cabbage white everywhere, so I guess cabbage will be pricey this winter. So maybe that species of butterfly will be the subject matter of the sculpture this time.

So just to bring people up to date on my world I have been very, very busy this summer with two exhibitions running one after the other, I have another which will be starting in November 2009 much to my shock......I realised today when I had the local program sent through for forthcoming events in my local theatres, that instead of my exhibition running from November 2010 till January 2011 (which I had been previously told) I will, apparently, be exhibiting from November 2009 until January 2010.........I was a little shocked to say the least, as now I only have around three months to prepare for this show of work....eeeeekkkkk! Good job I am prepared a little, and have already started to work on my new pieces for this exhibition of work me thinks! The exhibition is called Strange Machines and can be seen at the Landmark Theatre Ilfracombe Devon from the 9th November 2009 through to 30th January 2010 should anyone be in the local area on those dates......

This morning as my son pounced on me while we were enjoying our early morning cuppa he landed with his hand in a most undesirable place, as I saw this happening I said to him dont jump there be careful of my and I was going to say privates but as I was a little to late with my warning and I was acting after the event it came out all wrong and is now commenly known within the household as my God! In hindsight a rather good nick name for a male appendage don't you think, so maybe that should be added to the official list.

Well I skirted the property and nothing could be found, so I returned to the house and locked up for the night. It was at this point that my Mrs asked me if I had been whistling for the dogs and I said no it wasn't me.......well she heard a whistle plain as day so someone was out there last night....... All I have to do now is make it bug proof to stop them getting to it first. I hate using insectasides and chemical sprays and prefer to do battle in person so its time for slug and snail patrols and butterfly nets for the cabbage white's (boy can they eat!) did you know that if you listen very carefully in the garden on a quite summers eve you can hear the little critters eating your food as you search for them. Maybe they would dine for longer if they could eat with better manners.

Suddenly I found myself studying the character from a different point of view and was wonder, If I had the choice, would I take out Daphnee for the night or would it be Thelma ......well it didnt take me that long to decide, I have opted for Daphnee ............was just wondering who else might of had this dilemma and who would you choose? and why?

I have gone from having no working strimmers, to two working strimmers all at once, so maybe I have finally turned the corner of my run of mechanical bad luck. The only problem is, it isn't until after I had spent out my hard earned shekels on a brand new shiny one, that the old strimmer has decided to return to the world of the living. Would you believe after coming so close to being junked completely, it is now working better than I ever remember it doing so. I think the lesson to be learned by me here, is that if youdon't at first succeed try and try again! Anyway I am now lying on the floor typing this upside down, as my back is soooo bad after strimming most of my five acre field today........cup of tea, slice of cake then off to bed for me I think.......just hope I will be able to bend over in my studio tomorrow, as I have a new sculpture in development.

The ArtsApart space telescope has been fortunate enough to capture a remarkable event in our sky's. this quadrant of the night sky is heavily populated with bright suns and stars, which we are able to see with the telescopes special magnification lens, but tonight the telescope is homing in on one small area in particular. Through the UV sun filter that is mounted between the golden terminations of the telescopes view finder, we can see a super massive central sun, which has just gone supernova, we are fortunate enough to be watching at the very moment that the explosion occurs and we can see the shock wave omitting from the sun heading towards the three smaller orbiting stars.
